Uric acid and Diseases of bone

Our body separates purines to form uric acid. It travels through the blood to the kidneys. It is processed there and leaves the body through urine.
Causes of Uric acid formation
1) Excess uric acid formation
2) If sufficient uric acid is not excreted from the body through urine. Apart from this, the following factors also contribute to the increase of uric acid.
- Obesity
- Diabetes
- Blood pressure
- Raised cholesterol
- Hereditary disease
- After age 40
- Blood cancer
- After major surgery
- Hypothyroidism
- Continuous paint, lead factory workers
- spraying working class
- Alcohol Addiction
- Sedentary work and continuous drinking of sugary drinks, excessive meat diet
- Fasting for long days or drinking less water, due to excessive exercise the water in the body decreases and the uric acid does not come out completely.
- Overuse of drugs
Symptoms of Gout
1) Because of accumulation of Uric acid in the joints due to gout, it causes swelling and severe pain. If the irritation increases, the skin becomes red. After a long time, a lump is found in the joint. This causes swelling of the thumb or finger. Sometimes the knee or ankle can also be swollen.
2) Some people might experience effect of kidney stones.
Major checks
1) Uric acid in the blood
2) X-ray joint
3) Sonography : To diagnose stones in case of kidney disease
4) If hereditary tests to identify enzyme deficiencies.
Diet
Foods high in purine should be avoided, consumed in small quantities.
E.g. 1) Liquor, alcoholic drugs 2) Meat, seafood should be avoided 3) Soft drinks 4) Intake of pulses and maize which are difficult to digest like peas, wal, pawta, udid and maize in small quantity 5) Bakery products, snacks, papad high in fat, oily, Fatty foods should be avoided 6) Excessive salt, pickles, canned foods should be avoided in the diet.
What to eat to reduce Uric acid
- Consideration of green vegetables, fresh fruits in diet
- Consume dry fruits, low-fat cow’s milk and dairy products.
- Drink around 8 to 10 glasses of water daily. It helps to get rid of excess uric acid in the body through urine.
- Must eat oats, ginger, garlic, ginger, turmeric.
- Fruits rich in vitamin C should be consumed daily.
- Consume foods containing potassium, magnesium, and zinc.
Exercise
- Work-out consistently, doing practices that move all joints.
- Keeping different sicknesses under control.
- Ex. Blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, timely medication and regular checkups.
