Healthy food is very essential to maintain the good health in any season. Here are the some tips which we can follow in Monsoons.

Sprouts:

Sprouts are good for your health in all seasons, especially during monsoons. Protein-rich sprouts not only make a healthy breakfast or snack, but they also boost the immune system. Helps your body fight germs.

Herbal Tea:

Prefer to drink herbal teas with basil and ginger. Drinking herbal tea will boost your immunity and keep you safe from colds and flu. Instead of sugar, add a few drops of honey known for its anti-bacterial properties. But honey should not be heated and honey should not be adulterated.

Turmeric Milk:

A common ingredient in the kitchen, turmeric is a medicinal herb. It should be used in every season in any form. Rich in anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric improves the immune system and keeps infections at bay. Drink a glass of warm turmeric milk every night before going to bed to stay fit during monsoons.

How to make Turmeric Milk:

Heat the milk and add a spoonful of ghee, a spoonful of turmeric, a pinch of pepper and a pinch of cinnamon powder. Do not boil milk with turmeric, heating turmeric reduces the antioxidants in turmeric, so consumption of turmeric is not useful.

Probiotics:

You should include more probiotics and fermented foods in your diet during monsoons. Yogurt, buttermilk and pickled vegetables can ensure that your gut is healthy. Probiotics are good bacteria that live in the gut. And keeps the digestive system good.

Lemon:

Lemon is a great source of ‘Vitamin-C’ and strengthens your immunity. During rainy season we are prone to get diseases. ‘Vitamin-C’ helps fight infection, ease digestion and take care of bone health. Loaded with bioactive compounds and flavonoids, lemon juice or peel is an incredible addition to the monsoon diet. Drinking lemon juice or squeezing lemon on food or salad is a good way to boost your nutrition and immunity.

Dry Fruits:

Nuts Dates, almonds, walnuts and cashews are a good idea to eat in every season. Peanuts are rich in vitamins and minerals and make a great addition to your monsoon diet. Rich in riboflavin and niacin, these foods strengthen your immunity. They are powerful antioxidants and keep our cells healthy. Try eating some nutritious nuts, dry fruits and seeds this monsoon.

Healthy Tips for lifestyle during monsoons:

■ Keep the house and surroundings clean. Wash your hands before and after eating.

■ Always carry hand sanitizer when going out.

■ Always wash vegetables and fruits with clean, pure water before cooking or eating them raw.

■ Monsoon can affect your digestive system. Frequent acidity, gas, can be a problem.

■ Fried and heavy, fatty foods should be avoided during this season. Avoid ‘street food’ as much as possible.

■ Consult a doctor if you have a stomach infection.
