Uploaded on: 20 June 2023

Diabetes influences different organs, among them we should figure out the connection among bone and diabetes. If a person with diabetes does not control their sugar, it affects their bone health and function. This disorder is like a valve. Not noticed early. It is noticeable that it is affected and we cannot treat it much. Therefore, it is good for the health of people with diabetes to have regular check-ups and early treatment.

1) Bone brittleness increases

We can diagnose this with DEXA (dual x-ray absorptiometry scans measure bone density) take further measures accordingly. Because if you don’t get proper treatment, the rate of bone dissection (fracture) increases and if this happens, you have to suffer from bone pain forever.

2) Effects on legs

People experiencing diabetes need to confront numerous sicknesses. Sometimes a bone or an organ must be cut. As it influences the normal sensory system, the injury becomes because of absence of sensation. A blockage in the veins begins the ‘diabetic foot’. Here and there a toe or two and at times an entire foot must be cut off.

3) Bone injuries

Bone lesions or bacterial infections do not heal quickly and require long-term treatment.

4) Joint failure

Joints become weak and there is sudden clumsiness in walking. or increases as a result of a sudden fall and fracture. Swelling may occur, called Charcot Joint.

5) Frozen shoulder

Around 20% of diabetics might develop shoulder pain or stiffness in the shoulder.
