Uploaded on: 19 April 2023

Hygiene is very important for children. The floor should be kept clean in the house, children’s clothes should be washed separately and should not be mixed with adult’s clothes.

After the initial six months, start feeding as follows:

1) First of all give clean water. After that give the top water of rice and pulse water. Make flour of red rice leaves and spread it in a sheet. It is easy to digest.

2) You can also give this paste to the baby by removing the semolina of rice and gram dal and cooking it soft. You can use a little homemade ghee (especially cow’s ghee).

3) Strain the boiled water of vegetables from time to time. Give soup or fruit juice, coconut water. While giving fruit juice, make sure that there are no seeds in it.

  • Avoid foods with preservatives, colors, odors and flavors added to them. You can make ragi sattva at home. Soak ragi and make it dry and dry it in the sun.
  • The movements are a pleasant shock to his parents. Because it is during this time that the baby tries to pick up the body and snatch the spoon from your hand. Now is the right time for society to start a new diet. Now he should be given supplementary food at least three times a day. It should include one cereal, one vegetable and one fruit.
  • Breast milk can be given to the baby as breakfast. After some time after breakfast, but before eating, the baby should mash boiled carrots.

Food during 8- 11 months:

  • Food should be soft and swallowable mung bean porridge. At night, re-cooked yam or boiled potato should be given. While sleeping, the baby should be breastfed again and put to sleep.
  • Soft cooking vegetables and fruits should be cooked and made into pulp and given as food. Initially, vegetables like spinach, pumpkin, kohlrabi, sweet potato, red pumpkin, carrot should be washed and chopped finely and steamed.
  • Do not add water while cooking it. Or if used, do not throw away the water. Because they contain vitamins, apple, guava, chickpea, banana should also be steamed after removing the peel and seeds. And remember, only one vegetable or fruit should be given at a time.

This is the typical feeding schedule for your 8 to 11 month old baby. The baby should be fed more or less according to the capacity of the baby. That is, if the baby is given khichdi or boiled potato in the evening and the baby is full, then breast milk should not be given. Instead of khichdi, soft rice should be served with non-spicy amti or wheat semolina soft porridge.
