5 Drinking water tips

Uploaded on: 19 April 2023

We seem to have forgotten how to drink the water that is available to us anytime, anywhere, in any form. Our parents and especially the older generation i.e. grandparents knew the proper way to drink water. But we did not acquire that knowledge from them.

1- Eat or drink water

  • We should only do the act of eating what we eat. And it should be taken while drinking water.
  • Drinking water while eating extinguishes the digestive fire in the body.
  • As a result, the food we eat is not digested properly.
  • As a result various problems arise. It is better to drink water half an hour after a meal.

2- Drink water only when you feel thirsty

  • Drink water only when you feel thirsty.
  • Drinking more water than the body needs can cause a kind of water intoxication.
  • This causes electrolyte imbalance. Excess water lowers sodium in the blood and can lead to serious health conditions.

3- Cold water is not suitable

  • Cold water affects the digestive system by constricting the blood vessels and thereby restricting the digestive process.
  • It also makes absorption of nutrients difficult.
  • Drinking cold water affects the natural process of nutrient absorption during digestion.
  • Cold water is said to adversely affect the respiratory system.

4- Sit and drink water

  • Drinking water while standing does not benefit the body. Because it compresses the lower part of the stomach and compresses the adjacent parts.
  • Over time, it can disrupt the entire digestive system.
  • Also, drinking water in a standing position directs it to the lower abdomen, resulting in water impurities settling in the bladder and causing kidney damage.

5- Drink water in a calm and steady manner

  • Drink water in a calm and steady manner rather than drinking a lot at once it is better to drink small amounts at regular intervals.
  • It reduces frequent urination.
  • A good way to check if your body has enough water is to check the colour of your urine.
  • It should be slightly yellowish (lemon coloured). If the colour of the urine is watery, then it should be noted that you are drinking more water than required.
